Basic’s junior pitcher was in control from the start, tossing a six-hitter and striking out 10 to help the Wolves to a 7-1 home win over Liberty in the winners’ bracket semifinals of the Desert Region Tournament.

Leah Becker was 3-for-3 with a double, a home run, two runs and three RBIs to lead Foothill’s softball team to an 8-2 home win over Basic on Wednesday.
Cierra Sawyer pitched four scoreless innings of relief on Saturday to lead Coronado’s softball team to a 7-2 road victory over Rancho.
