Tyler Avery, Nick Smirk and Raf Chiarelli combined on a three-hit shutout Saturday as Bishop Gorman’s baseball team downed Nogales (Ariz.) in the Boras Classic in Tempe, Arizona.
Fabian Torrez’s two-run double with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning capped a four-run rally and lifted host Legacy’s baseball team to a 6-5 win over Spring Valley on Thursday.

Gage Streit singled home Tommy Dirk with one out in the bottom of the seventh Friday to give Foothill’s baseball team a 3-2 home win over Liberty.
Bishop Gorman’s John Gaughan came in with the tying run on third base and one out in the seventh inning, and induced a groundout and a strikeout to record the save and help the Gaels’ baseball team stave off visiting Durango on Tuesday, 5-4.
