The Board of Regents Athletics Committee was not happy with UNLV brass on Thursday after hearing why the university is almost $5 million short on the athletic department’s budget.

The job posting for UNLV’s athletic director is on the university website until March 15. After that day, the search will pick up in earnest.
It might be the smartest check the university ever writes, because if the last year told us anything, conducting searches for significant roles isn’t the greatest strength of those at UNLV.
The 17-member search committee to find the next UNLV athletic director has been former. Todd Turner, who heads the search firm, will be in Las Vegas early next week to meet with committee members.
