UNLV used a 16-point run late in the second half to pull away and defeat Jackson State on Tuesday at the Thomas Mack Center. Amauri Hardy led the Rebels with 20 points.

The Rebels outscored the Wildcats 22-8 over the final 9:42 after Abilene Christian had tied the game at 50.
Xavier Sneed’s 12-footer with 28.9 seconds left in overtime put Kansas State up for good, and the Wildcats went on to beat UNLV 60-56 on Saturday at the Thomas Mack Center.
UNLV went on a 25-4 run late in the first half to assume to control in its 86-71 victory over Purdue-Fort Wayne on Tuesday at the Thomas & Mack Center.
This season figures to be one of transition more than contention for UNLV, which opens its basketball season at 7 p.m. Tuesday against Purdue-Fort Wayne at the Thomas & Mack Center.
