UNLV football coach Barry Odom received letters of intent from 22 high school prospects Wednesday, including seven Las Vegas locals.

Vashti Cunningham, who went to Bishop Gorman High School, is the nation’s top high jumper. She is ranked sixth in the world and competes in the World Championships on Saturday.
Palo Verde’s Daniel Bellinger, a tight end at San Diego State, was the first Las Vegas player drafted. The other was Bishop Gorman’s Jalen Nailor, a wide receiver at Michigan State.
Tate Martell, who was most recently a quarterback at UNLV, is retiring from football, an official UNLV spokesperson confirmed to the Review-Journal.
