LDS church plans annual Community Day of Service for Oct. 15 in Las Vegas

There are no prayers, no preaching or questions about faith. The October Community Day of Service may be coordinated through The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but the focus is entirely on doing something for others. And the entire community is invited to participate.

Ranch helps socially challenged kids in Las Vegas find their voice through horse therapy

Two years ago, southwest Las Vegas resident Linda Perry was struggling with her then 8-year-old daughter Sara’s behavior at home and in school. Sara was diagnosed with a learning disorder, had trouble speaking, and as a result, became a target of bullying.

So Perry turned to horse therapy at White Horse Youth Ranch, 8390 W. Windmill Lane, a Christian faith-based nonprofit dedicated to helping socially challenged youths ages 5 to 18.

North Las Vegas couple helm first haunted attraction for the Linq

The Linq is debuting its first haunted attraction, The Zombie Escape, this October, and to help bring it to life, local haunted house aficionados and North Las Vegas residents Des and Daniel Slatkin were brought on board.
