Grapes only grow on wood that grew previous year

Q: I have had a grapevine for the last six years. The first year when I planted it, I didn’t get grapes but years two, three and four, I had lots. Last year my vine grew leaves and it was time for the baby grapes to show up, but they never did. We’re in the middle of May and I’m wondering what is wrong with my grapevine.

Great without grass: 16th annual awards recognize water-efficient landscapes

Plenty of Las Vegas homeowners have front and backyard landscapes that do not rely on grass or water-gulping plants. Some of those yards were entered into the 16th Annual Southern Nevada Landscape Awards competition. The Springs Preserve Botanical Gardens and the Southern Nevada Water Authority sent judges to each finalist’s qioglocation and announced the winners June 5.

Chemicals not a sure-fire way to kill ash tree

Question: I have a huge ash tree that I want to either stop from seeding or kill. I heard about a product that can stop seeding, but I am told due to the size of the tree, it is impossible to spray the blooms. This tree is at least 50 feet tall. It is a real nuisance.
