After the ESPN Robert Lee fiasco, how did we get a boxing referee named Robert Byrd?

First, I would like to thank the people who resisted the urge to go politically correct and remove the Mayweather-McGregor referee because his name is Robert Byrd — as ESPN did when it removed the TV announcer from the University of Virginia game because his name is Robert Lee.

Second, I have to wonder why the Democrats didn’t protest this selection, as well. Maybe it is because, as the former Exalted Cyclops of his local KKK, the late Sen. Robert Byrd was a Democrat and it would distract from their message of whom to hate.
