Bob Coffin is no anti-Semite

In response to Jane Ann Morrison’s Aug. 31 column, “Developer calls Las Vegas councilman anti-Semitic”:

I have known Las Vegas City Councilman Bob Coffin for 20 years, both as a friend and in the political arena. He served in the Legislature as a state senator. Bob Coffin is not anti-Semitic.

Mr. Coffin was one of four council members who voted against the proposed redevelopment of the Badlands golf course. The developer, who is from Israel, now feels that Mr. Coffin does not like his national origin.

Mr. Morrison’s commentary was unbiased. She is quite right that Mr. Coffin’s words are open for discussion. But remember the old adage, “There are two sides to every story.” Mr. Coffin will remain my good friend.
