Skye Canyon announces phase two

Skye Canyon announced that its 214-acre second phase of residential development will include Lennar Homes, Richmond American Homes, Pulte Homes and Woodside Homes. Pardee Homes announced its expanded presence to phase two earlier this year. Skye Canyon expects phase two to be made up of 11 neighborhoods. Phase two is north of Grand Teton Drive and west of Skye Village Road.

Richmond American Homes and Pulte Homes will offer two neighborhoods. Pulte recently closed on two parcels that are 15.39 acres and 16.81 acres. Pulte’s Evergreen neighborhood in phase one, offering one and two-story floor plans, is nearing closeout. Richmond American Homes closed on parcels that are 12.52 acres and 20.32 acres. Lennar Homes and Woodside Homes will each offer one neighborhood, having closed on 18.38 and 19.54 acres, respectively.

Pardee and Pulte anticipate opening model homes early next year, and Lennar Homes, Richmond American Homes and Woodside Homes will open later in the year.

“Skye Canyon offers a new way of experiencing life in Las Vegas. The response to phase one of our next-generation master-planned development has exceeded our expectations,” said Garry Goett, CEO of Olympia Cos., developer of Skye Canyon.

“In phase two, our homebuilders will continue to evolve the concept of indoor-outdoor living that homebuyers have embraced, as well as expanding our amenities that support our residents healthy, active lifestyle.”

In conjunction with the development of phase two, Skye Canyon is adding amenities for residents. Work has started on Skye Canyon Marketplace that includes Las Vegas’ first Smith’s Marketplace, a 123,000-square-foot store with a merchandise mix of clothing, housewares and groceries. The shopping center will incorporate an assortment of retailers and is expected to open in mid-2018.

Somerset Academy of Las Vegas, a K-8 tuition-free charter school, will open its doors for the start of the 2018-19 school year. The Skye Canyon location is the sixth Somerset Academy to open in the Las Vegas Valley. The college prep-focused curriculum includes art, STEM, music, Spanish and physical education as well as enrichment courses, clubs and sports. Enrollment starts January 2018. More information can be found at www.somersetskyecanyon.org.

Other amenities in Skye Canyon’s phase two include a 2-acre park, a network of walking trails that are easily accessible from each neighborhood and designated bike lanes on all the major streets.
