Where are the resources to provide universal preschool?

Esther Cepeda’s Monday commentary explained why universal preschool is needed to give children in poverty a chance to succeed. And she attributed the failure to provide it to a lack of foresight and understanding of its importance in a child’s development.

But foresight and knowledge can’t help when the cause of the problem is too many children and too few resources. The problem will only continue to get worse until someone finds a way to overcome those obstacles.
