ROUNDUP: Walker takes over in OT as Cougar boys outlast Falcons
Lamar Walker scored four of Coronado’s six points in overtime as the Cougars held on for a 62-61 road victory over Foothill on Monday.
Walker finished with 18 points and 11 rebounds for Coronado, which scored the first four points of overtime and held on as the Falcons missed a pair of opportunities late in the extra period.
Michael Louder added 15 points and 11 rebounds for the Cougars, and teammate Sam Bittner scored 11.
The win left Coronado tied with Silverado atop the Southeast League at 10-2. The teams meet on Wednesday at Silverado.
Foothill’s Brannon Cresanto led all scorers with 28 points. Taylor Montgomery had 10 rebounds for the Falcons, and teammate Elijah Smith grabbed eight boards.
Legacy 67, Cimarron-Memorial 57 — At Legacy, Zack Lane scored 17 points as the Longhorns topped the Spartans.
Cardon Harris added 13 points, and Donovon Gray added 12 points for Legacy.
Erik Brewer scored 25 points to lead Cimarron. Arin Henderson added 12 points, and Deijon Spillers scored 10 for the Spartans.
Clark 86, Durango 67 — At Clark, Sir Washington scored 25 points, and Kentrell Washington added 20 points as the Chargers defeated the Trailblazers.
Bryan McGriff added 13 points for Clark, which outscored Durango 29-14 in the fourth quarter to pull away.
Joe Tuss scored 17 to lead Durango. Tyler Jones added 14 points, Chris Mellor had 12 points, and Tyler Watts scored 11 for the Trailblazers.
Green Valley 84, Basic 61 — At Basic, Durrell McDonald had 24 points, and the Gators outscored the Wolves 51-33 in the second half on their way to the win.
Devan Kohn added 15 points, and Lorenzo Jarvis and Ikaika Pladera each scored 13 for Green Valley.
Devonte Boyd paced Basic with 20 points. Jaylen Rose added 12 points, and Eddie Vega scored 10 for the Wolves.
Del Sol 65, Liberty 58 — At Liberty, the Dragons outscored the Patriots 37-24 in the second half to come away with the road win.
Chris Marshall scored a game-high 18 points to lead Del Sol. Max Prescott and Nathan Kirschbaum each scored 13 points, and Jesus Magallon scored 11 points for the Dragons.
Rhandy Tomlinson and Jeremy Lontayao each scored 16 points to lead Liberty.
Desert Oasis 62, Bonanza 53 — At Bonanza, Alex Trillo scored 20 points, and Anthony Lianzo had 19 points as the Diamondbacks outlasted the Bengals.
Noah Jefferson added 14 points for Desert Oasis, which outscored Bonanza 20-8 in the second quarter to take a 32-20 halftime advantage.
Marques Barnes lead Bonanza with 15 points.
Palo Verde 83, Cheyenne 58 — At Palo Verde, Jordyn Martin had 15 points and eight rebounds, and Eris Winder had 14 points and five assists to help the Panthers top the Desert Shields.
Trent Gneiting and Michael Buchanan each added 13 points, Darryl Gaynor scored 11 and Nahjee Matlock 10 for Palo Verde.
Jamal Peterson led Cheyenne with 14 points, and teammate Gary Stewart scored 11.
Centennial 70, Mojave 39 — At Centennial, twins Marcus and Malcolm Allen each had 16 points to help the Bulldogs roll past the Rattlers.
Dallin Layton added 11 points for Centennial, which led 48-12 at the half.
Deon Walters paced Mojave with 10 points.
Bishop Gorman 93, Sierra Vista 58 — At Sierra Vista, Shabazz Muhammad had 25 points to help the Gaels roll past the Mountain Lions.
Rashad Muhammad added 15 points, Demetris Morant had 14 points and Rosco Allen 10 for the Gaels.
Ronnie Stanley grabbed 10 rebounds, and Gio Guzman had eight assists for Gorman, which led 48-33 at the half.
Nino Flores hit five 3-pointers and scored 18 points to lead Sierra Vista. Sean Williams added 16 points, Isaac Thibodeaux scored 10 and Welsey Rouse had eight points, seven rebounds and six assists for the Mountain Lions.
Silverado 72, Tech 27 — At Tech, Ruben Jackson scored 24 points as the Skyhawks blew out the Roadrunners.
David Ware added 16 points, Justin Johnson scored 12 and Jonathan Aman 10 for Silverado, which outscored Tech 56-12 in the final three quarters.
Josh West led the Roadrunners with nine points.
Shadow Ridge 69, Arbor View 54 — At Arbor View, Nick Flowers scored 24 points, and Malcolm Davis added 16 points to lead the Mustangs past the Aggies.
Navonte Hill had 14 points, and Blake Claxton and Terrell Butler each scored 11 points for Arbor View.
Western 56, Pahrump Valley 43 — At Pahrump, Nate Johnson had 18 points to lead the Warriors past the Trojans.
U.L. Jamerson added 14 points, and Samuel Jamerson scored 12 for Western.
Bret Kunzi paced Pahrump with 13 points, and Dalton Beighley scored 10 for the Trojans.
Spring Valley 68, Virgin Valley 65 — At Mesquite, Rahfe’l King hit two free throws with 10 seconds to play, and Ryan Vozzola added a bucket to give the Grizzlies the edge over the Bulldogs.
King finished with a game-high 26 point, and DeShaun Nowlin and Shannon Nolan each scored 11 points to lead Spring Valley, which went 8-for-9 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter.
Virgin Valley’s Dee Bowler scored 18 points, and Humberto Urias and Nolan Tanner each scored 10 points for the Bulldogs.
