2 pedestrians injured in bus crash on Las Vegas Strip
Two men were critically injured after they were hit by a bus Tuesday morning on the Strip, according to Las Vegas police.
Phillip Reis, 32, and Robert Baxter, 59, were crossing Las Vegas Boulevard just north of the Forum Shops at Caesars around 6:30 a.m., according to a release from the Metropolitan Police Department. They were in a marked crosswalk but did not have a green light to cross.
A tour bus traveling south on the boulevard had a green light when it hit the two men, whom police say were intoxicated.
Reis and Baxter were taken to the University Medical Center with critical injuries. They were in life-threatening condition, the release said.
Police said the 56-year-old bus driver was not impaired and remained at the scene.
The crash remained under investigation Tuesday afternoon.
