Metro asks for help finding pair of wanted brothers

Las Vegas police are seeking the public’s help in finding a pair of men they say are siblings and wanted on multiple outstanding warrants.

Brothers Antonio and Edward Woods are being sought for several bench warrants and are considered armed and dangerous, Metro said Friday.

Both men failed to show up at separate trials, police spokesman Larry Hadfield said.

Antonio Woods, 34, was arrested in 2012 for appearing at the hearing of an alleged pimp and threatening Metro officers, according to an arrest report. Police believe Woods was called by the man on trial to intimidate witnesses and jurors outside the courtroom.

Instead, Woods made several aggressive attempts at intimidating police officers who were sitting on a bench outside the hearing, his arrest report said.

Officers said Woods’ said he would sexually assault the officers’ family members, the report said, so police arrested him.

Woods faces charges of robbery, felony coercion with force, battery domestic violence, battery by a prisoner and intimidating a juror. He is described as about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing about 220 pounds, police said.

Edward Woods, 36, was arrested in April in connection with the shooting of 41-year-old Earnest Wilmore. The two, whom police said had known each other for 15 to 20 years, were leaving the gym together when Edward Woods made a reference to Wilmore owing him $1,000 from a dice game.

When Wilmore said he wouldn’t pay, Edward Woods pulled a semi-automatic handgun from his jacket pocket and shot Wilmore in the calf, causing permanent damage to the man’s lower leg, according to an arrest report.

Edward Woods fled in a silver Cadillac and was arrested after a short chase, police said. He faces charges of battery with a deadly weapon with substantial bodily harm, possession of a gun by a prohibited person and carrying a concealed weapon. He is also about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weight about 230 pounds, police said.

Anyone with information on these men or their whereabouts should call Metro at 702-828-3394. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or www.crimestoppersofnv.com.
