Police arrest man on kidnapping, child endangerment charges

A man faces child endangerment and kidnapping charges, among others, after Las Vegas police said he barricaded himself into a west valley apartment Tuesday with a woman and baby.

Police received a call about a domestic disturbance about 8 a.m. at the complex in the 9100 block of West Flamingo, Metro Lt. Loren Napier said. The man forced his way into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment and hurt her, Napier said.

When officers arrived, the man, who was trying to leave, went back inside the apartment with his ex-girlfriend and their baby.

He was arrested without incident about 10:45 a.m., Napier said.

The man, who was not identified by name, is facing charges of child endangerment, home invasion, burglary, domestic battery with strangulation, 2nd-degree kidnapping and coercion, Napier said. He was being booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
