Boy, 5, found underwater in pool, hospitalized

A 5-year-old boy was hospitalized after he was pulled from a pool at a North Las Vegas apartment complex Saturday night, according to police.

North Las Vegas police were called about 7 p.m. to Centennial at 5th Apartments in the 200 block of East Centennial Parkway, near North Fifth Street, where a young boy was found in the pool, department spokesman Aaron Patty said.

The boy was underwater for several minutes before a family member pulled him from the pool, Patty said.

He was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition, but his condition was later upgraded to stable, Patty said.

Multiple people were swimming in the pool when the boy was submerged, Patty said.
