Jason Zucker surpasses season-high goal total

Jason Zucker has surpassed the all-time record for NHL goals scored by a kid from Las Vegas in a single season, breaking his own mark.

Zucker, the first Las Vegan to play in the NHL, scored four goals in 20 games for the Minnesota Wild in 2012-13; last season, he lit the lamp four times in 21 games.

This season, he already has five goals (and two assists) in just 11 games for Minnesota.

Zucker is getting to be such a goal sniper that big guys on some of the other pro hockey teams have taken to slashing the 22-year-old forward with their hockey sticks.

With two hands, even.

Zucker is the Wild’s leading goal-scorer. He’s having a great season so far. With just 87 more goals, he would tie Wayne Gretzky’s single-season record of 92.

Which shows you how awesome Gretz was.
