A woman died in a crash in the northwest Las Vegas Valley Monday evening.
The crash happened at 7:05 p.m. at North Buffalo Drive and West Elkhorn Road, the Metropolitan Police Department said.
According to the release, a 2018 Toyota Avalon driven by an 87-year-old Las Vegas man collided with a 2007 Nissan Xterra driven by an 18-year-old Las Vegas woman. The woman who died was a passenger in the Toyota, according to police, and was identified Wednesday by the Clark County coroner’s office as Jennifer Morelli, 73.
“A collision occurred when the Toyota attempted to make a left turn and entered the travel path of the Nissan at the intersection,” the Metro press release said.
Morelli needed to be “mechanically extracted to render aid,” police said. She died at the scene from multiple blunt force injuries stemming from the collision, according to the coroner.
The drivers were transported to University Medical Center, police said. Neither driver showed signs of impairment, police said.
The woman’s death was the 93rd traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction in 2025.
