LETTER: Luster of the Strip has worn off

In the past, I’ve enjoyed being on the Strip — it’s one of the reasons I moved to Vegas. Recently, I visited a Strip casino intending to have lunch with a friend and maybe spend an hour at the craps table. I paid $16 for a beer, $20 for a chicken sandwich and $25 for two hours of parking. After spending that much, I had little desire to spend any more at the tables. I won’t be going back soon. And we’re wondering why attendance is low?

Hundreds of billions have been raised to fund AI and other associated businesses. It is far too early to determine the economic impact.
