South Carolina man dies after hit by vehicle near Las Vegas Strip
A 20-year-old man from South Carolina was killed after he was struck by a vehicle Thursday night just east of the Las Vegas Strip, police said.
At 9:08 p.m., officers from the Metropolitan Police Department responded to Tropicana Avenue and Koval Lane regarding a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.
According to police, evidence at the scene indicated a pedestrian was crossing Tropicana Avenue east of Koval Lane from north to south outside of a marked or implied crosswalk.
A 2014 Lexus IS was traveling east on Tropicana Avenue east of Koval Lane. Authorities said the left front of the Lexus struck the pedestrian, projecting him eastbound onto the roadway.
Police noted that the driver of the Lexus remained at the scene and did not show any signs of impairment.
Arriving medical personnel transported the pedestrian to Sunrise Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The man’s death marks the 106th traffic-related fatality in Las Vegas police’s jurisdiction for the year 2025
