Man, 93, dies in multi-car crash in southeast Las Vegas
A driver died after a multi-vehicle crash in the southeast valley Monday afternoon.
The driver, a 93-year-old Las Vegas man, was driving a red 2019 Chevrolet Equinox when the crash happened at just after 1:40 p.m. at East Sunset Road and South Sandhill Road, the Metropolitan Police Department said.
The crash happened when the eastbound Equinox “failed to yield to westbound traffic” and turned left from Sunset to northbound Sandhill, police said in a press release. A westbound Honda Accord then hit the Equinox and was redirected northwest before colliding with a Toyota Camry, police said.
All three drivers were transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where the driver of the Equinox was pronounced dead, police said
The Honda and Toyota drivers suffered minor injuries.
It was the 138th traffic-related fatality in the department’s jurisdiction in 2025. The crash remained under investigation.
