Man shot, killed early Tuesday near downtown Las Vegas

A man was shot and killed near downtown Las Vegas early Tuesday morning, police said.

The shooting occurred in the 400 block of South 15th Street around 2 a.m., according to Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Robert Price.

Officers found a man in his 30s in the front yard of a house, suffering from gunshot wounds, Lt. Price said. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Price said authorities believe the shooting was isolated and there was no further threat to the public.
