Updated January 10, 2026 - 12:22 am

A pedestrian died in a crash involving a pickup truck late Friday afternoon in downtown Las Vegas.

The Metropolitan Police Department said the crash happened at 4:58 p.m. on West Bonanza Road, east of North City Parkway.

In a statement, police said the pedestrian, a 51-year-old female from Las Vegas, was “crossing Bonanza east of City Parkway, from north to south outside of a marked or implied crosswalk.

“A 2013 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck towing an unregistered utility trailer was traveling west on Bonanza east of City Parkway. The Chevrolet was making a lane change … when the pedestrian crossed the Chevrolet’s path of travel. The front of the Chevrolet contacted the pedestrian, projecting her onto the roadway, at which point she was dragged under the truck. The driver of the Chevrolet brought the vehicle to a controlled stop and reversed off the pedestrian.”

The driver remained at the scene and “did not display any indicators of impairment,” police said.

The pedestrian was transported to University Medical Center and later died.

The pedestrian’s death marks the fourth traffic-related fatality in the department’s jurisdiction for 2026.
