Las Vegas Arts District to spring into First Friday

The monthly First Friday arts festival returns from 6 to 11 p.m. Friday to the Las Vegas Arts District downtown. Many galleries also open from 6 to 8 p.m. for Preview Thursdays. For more information on parking and an entertainment schedule, visit firstfriday

Activities scheduled and participating gallery shows include:

— Performers are slated to include American Cream, DJ EHR, Jordan Kate Mitchell Kalsey Kulyk, Rusty Maples, Andrew Wright and Friends, DJ Jenna Palmer, Halemano, Jordan Lynn Goldstein, Kayla Tingle, Sabriel, DJ Duane King, DJ OB-one, Holes and Hearts, Josh Bledsoe and Lounge Orphans. The Nevada Ballet Theatre is scheduled to perform, and Shaolin Kungfu Chan plans to perform the Chinese Lion Ceremony.

— Kids activities are planned, including an appearance by Paige O’Hara, the voice of Belle in Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast,” who is scheduled to sign autographs and meet with children in the Kids Zone on Casino Center Boulevard north of Colorado Avenue. Animators from the Chuck Jones Experience will be on hand to provide advice to artists.

— RTZvegas inside Art Square, 1017 S. First St., Suite 195, is slated to present “Asleep in Vegas,” featuring work on themes of sleep by Daniel Clark, Mary Hill, Charles Morgan and Anne Davis Mulford, Thursday through April 27. Mulford is expected to sleep through the night in the gallery window on Preview Thursday and First Friday.

— 303 North Studio, 107 E. Charleston Blvd., Suite 115, plans to show Julio Roberto Morales’ “Inside My Nightmares” Thursday through April 28. Call 702-742-6241.

— Jana’s Red Room, 107 E. Charleston Blvd., Suite 160, is slated to display Loretta de Grandis’ new exhibit “Feline Pleasures“ Thursday and Friday. Visit janasredroom.com.

— The City of the World Gallery, 1229 S. Casino Center Blvd., is scheduled to display F. Andrew Taylor’s historic mystery exhibit “Artifacts from the Ill-fated Throckmorton Expedition“ Thursday through April 26. An artist’s reception is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. April 20. — Erin Stellmon’s “Reinventing the West” is scheduled to be on display Thursday through April 19 at Trifecta Gallery inside The Arts Factory, 107 E. Charleston Blvd., Suite 135. Visit trifectagallery.com

— Food vendors scheduled to be available include 3Potato4 Las Vegas, the Flying Monkey truck, Just Chill, Pops Kabobs, Sauced, Sin City Wings, The Cookie Bar, Bens BBQ, the Funnel Cake Cafe, Las Vegas Kettle Corn, Roamin Dough, Senor Blues, Smoking Bros BBQ, Twisted Taters, Jojos Jerky, Lily Bui, Sin City Street Treats and Thai Harder.
