Cooler, calmer weather settles into Las Vegas Valley for weekend

Cooler temperatures and wind are expected over the weekend and into next week, according to the National Weather Service.

Winds will be light until about Wednesday — with speeds ranging from 10 to 15 mph, the weather service said.

Saturday saw a high temperature of 77 degrees, while Sunday is expected to see 78, meteorologist John Salmen said. The weekend will have sunny conditions.

Monday is likely to have sunny skies and reach 81, he said.

“Temperatures are suppose to be around 91 this time of year,” Salmen said. We are “10 degrees below normal, which I think people will like.” This is due to an area of low pressure through the western part of the United States, meteorologist Barry Pierce said.

No rain is expected, the weather service said.

Tuesday and Wednesday have cloudy skies in the forecast, Salmen said. Tuesday’s high is likely to be 80, while Wednesday will see a high of 78.
