By the time the night was over, the Wildcats had won three games. The last of the three, thanks to a key two-out RBI sinlge by Oliver Haro-Reyes in the sixth inning, helped Las Vegas claim the Mountain Region championship with a 3-1 victory over Arbor View at Centennial.
Kashten Frei’s double with one out in the top of the seventh inning plated Rylan Evans and Coby Longman with the tying and go-ahead runs and lifted Moapa Valley to a 6-4 win over host Pahrump Valley in the losers’ bracket final of the Class 3A Southern Region Tournament.
The host Diamondbacks hit four home runs and breezed to an 18-0 victory over Basic to win the Desert Region Tournament. Desert Oasis (30-7) was the lone undefeated team in the tournament entering Friday and needed the cushion after a 2-1 loss to the Wolves in the first game.
