Neither Spencer Raban nor his family like to talk about the Hodgkin lymphoma, a form of cancer, he was diagnosed with at age 9. It’s not that the now-cancer-free Moapa Valley High School student is embarrassed or even trying to repress the memories; he just doesn’t want to be identified by it.
