The company developing a solar power plant in Clark County failed to close Friday on a federal loan guarantee that would help obtain financing for the project, according to the Department of Energy.

Clark County’s waste management contractor has partnered with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas to install Southern Nevada’s first solar-powered trash compactor.
