In a meeting of 12 university presidents on Monday, the Mountain West conference pledged to not only stay intact but seek out new member schools.
The Mountain West is a possible option to take in the four remaining Pac-12 schools, “but this is pretty doggone fluid right now,” former UNLV AD Jim Livengood said.
UNLV and other Group of Five schools are not among the Big 12’s preferred list. Instead, the conference is focused on Arizona, while monitoring Utah, Arizona State and even Oregon and Washington.
