Kirk Kerkorian celebrated by flash mob for his 95th birthday

MGM Resorts International founder Kirk Kerkorian turned 95 Wednesday and his fiancée, Joan Dangerfield, decided to surprise him with a flash mob.

Dancers performed to the song, "To Know Him Is To Love Him" by The Shirelles, at the landmark The Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles, one of Kerkorian’s favorite hangouts.

“What do you give the father of Las Vegas and founder of MGM Resorts, a former professional boxer and dare-devil pilot who has epitomized the American dream and done so much for so many people?” Dangerfield asked at the outset of the video, which was posted to YouTube.

“Like the rest of the world I have been noticing the flash-mob phenomenon for a while,” Dangerfield said. “I really love the spirit behind them and the unexpected joy they bring.”

Dangerfield met Kerkorian at the valet and escorted him to a private bungalow. Once there, she claimed to have a faulty key and faked a call to the front desk for a new one.

While on the call, a Flash Mob America dancer approached Kerkorian and said, "Hey, I know you. You’re Kirk Kerkorian. I just love you." Then another approached and said, "I know you and I love you too." Music erupted and a flood of dancers swarmed in to join the choreographed routine.

Kerkorian is MGM Resorts’ largest shareholder through Tracinda, his privately held investment arm.
