2013 World Series of Poker: Time for the chips to fall
May 29, 2013 - 9:14 pm
With 62 events between now and July 15, the 2013 World Series of Poker got into gear Wednesday with an event just for the home crowd.
The Casino Employees No-Limit Hold ’em game gets things started at the Rio with a $500 buy-in two-day event, and then it’s nonstop poker until the nine finalists are standing for November’s final table in the main event.
Also Wednesday, a No-Limit Hold ’em/Eight-handed event began, set for a wrap-up Saturday.
It’s the 44th annual World Series of Poker. And it will produce new stars, if past tournaments are any indication.
The WSOP main event will take place from July 6 to 15. The November Nine format will return again in 2013, with the final table scheduled for Nov. 4-5. ESPN will broadcast the final table.
