The Las Vegas Review-Journal’s website was honored by Editor & Publisher magazine as part of the 16th annual EPpy Awards.

The publication won an EPpy for Best Online Media Advertising/Media Campaign with 250,000 to 1 million unique monthly visitors.

The campaign was the Review-Journal U Pick `Em Pro Picks Blitz, in which readers could pick the outcome of National Football League games on a weekly basis. Advertisers had various levels of sponsorship.

Earning the award for the Review-Journal were Vikas Khorana, Tom Stallbaumer, Chris Bovill, John Jenks and Chris Trares.

The EPpy awards honor the best in online journalism and advertising. Other winners included ESPN, CNN, the Boston Globe and NPR. There were 43 different categories.

The Las Vegas Sun website received two awards: one for best community service on a media-affiliated website and one for best enterprise feature on a website. Both were for “Do No Harm,” the Sun’s examination of hospital care deficiencies in Las Vegas.

EPpy awards were also given to Greenspun Media Group for the Las Vegas Weekly as best entertainment website and Vegas Inc. as best business/finance website.
