SLS Las Vegas has begun hiring to fill 2,700 jobs
The $415 million SLS Las Vegas has begun hiring to fill 2,700 jobs at the 1,600-room Strip resort that is expected to open Labor Day Weekend.
Operated by Los Angeles-based SBE Entertainment, the employment process is the second phase for SLS, which recently hired managers and department directors. Jobs available include housekeeping, front desk, culinary, security, food and beverage, public areas and casino operations.
Applications are only accepted online at slslasvegas.com/careers, where available positions are updated daily. SLS Las Vegas has already received nearly 15,000 applications and counting.
SLS Las Vegas is already accepting room reservations for dates starting late August 2014.
The property is the redesigned Rat Pack era-Sahara, which closed in May 2011.
SBE Entertainment owns SLS Las Vegas in partnership with private equity firm Stockbridge Capital Group of San Francisco.
The reconfigured 60,000-square-foot casino will have 80 table games and 800 slot machines.
SBE will oversee all aspects of SLS Las Vegas. The company said The Bazaar by Jose Andres, Katsuya by Starck, Umami Burger, The Sayers Club and 800 Degrees are part of the SLS lineup. In 2012, SBE announced an agreement with Los Angeles retailer Fred Segal to place seven different outlets throughout the property.
SBE operates 60 restaurants and nightclubs. The company’s loyalty program could have 5 million names by the time SLS Las Vegas opens.
Besides existing hotels in Los Angeles, New York and Miami, SLS hotels are being planned for Philadelphia, Seattle, Boston and Houston.
SBE and Stockbridge acquired the Sahara in 2007.
