Chair 4 gives Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort patrons pretty place to relax
If it’s the end of the day at Las Vegas Ski &Snowboard Resort and you’re looking for your pals after a session of skiing or snowboarding, they might just be at Chair 4 — a new rooftop bar and grill unveiled this season.
Chair 4 is atop the roof of the resort’s main lodge, featuring grilled dishes and burgers; signature cocktails, canned beer and whiskey shots; and majestic views of Lee Peak and Mummy Mountain.
Guests get to Chair 4 by climbing a real chair lift tower.
The lounge’s vintage ski decor includes repurposed lift chairs, along with other recycled chairlift parts. They create a laid-back, backyard-style atmosphere with great mountain vistas and people watching opportunities.
Josh Bean, the ski and snowboard center’s slope maintenance director, directed the Chair 4 design and construction.
Dan Hooper, the resort’s skier services director, said some of the old chair lift equipment was salvaged, dusted off and buffed up for the lounge because many of the ski center’s patrons are nostalgic.
“There’s a lot of people very attached to the ski resort,” Hooper said.
Chair 4 will be open, weather permitting, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It can accommodate up to 80 people, Hooper said.
The lounge officially opened Jan. 11 after a soft opening.
Las Vegas Ski &Snowboard Resort invested $100,000 into launching the lounge, Hooper said.
