A study for staffing and consulting firm Robert Half International Inc. and job search Web site CareerBuilder.com found 59 percent of hiring managers complaining that their biggest challenge is finding qualified workers, especially in high-demand fields such as technology and accounting.
Six out of 10 said at least a quarter of the applicants who contact them are not qualified, while 31 percent said more than half of their job applicants are not qualified.
