THIS WEEK'S BUSINESS PRESS POLL QUESTION
A coalition of conservationists, labor leaders, educators and social activists is backing a petition drive to raise taxes on Nevada's mining industry. The petition calls for amending the state constitution to raise the tax to a minimum of 5 percent of a mining company's gross proceeds. The mining tax is now set at a maximum of 5 percent on net proceeds after most expenses are deducted.
Would you support increasing Nevada's mining tax to help the state resolve its budget crisis?
