COVER STORY: Buzz at past Global Gaming Expos centered on server-based games, but this year's expo put the spotlight squarely on the games. Manufacturers unveiled a collection of new themed machines and some games that were part amusement ride, part gambling device.

BUSINESS LIFE: Chris Vito went from panic to prosperity. His company, Nevada Adult Day Healthcare Centers, started painfully slowly in 2004. During its first six months of operations, the business drew just nine clients. Around then, Vito's savings ran out and business-loan money dried up. Lucky for him, business at the center then boomed.
