THIS WEEK'S BUSINESS PRESS POLL QUESTION

Last week at a town hall meeting , U.S. Sen. John Ensign was asked, "Have you repented to God for your affair?" The question referred to an affair Ensign had with the wife of a friend and former member of his staff. Ensign replied that he had repented to "my Lord … but also to my family and to anybody else that I hurt." Some audience members thought voters should focus on a political candidate's stance on social policy and economic issues, not his personal life. But others believe that how a politician conducts himself privately reflects his values and judgment in professional life.

Should Ensign's sexual affair be a political issue?
