Visitors take a tour Friday at Sempra Energy’s Copper Mountain Solar 2 photovoltaic site in the Eldorado Valley, south of Boulder City. Gov. Brian Sandoval and the company’s executives dedicated the 92-megawatt first phase of the site. The San Diego-based company also announced the start of construction of Copper Mountain Solar 3, a 250-megawatt project scheduled to be fully operational in 2015. The solar projects will make up the largest complex of its kind when construction is completed.
