General Growth Properties taps new manager for Meadows mall

General Growth Properties Inc. on Thursday announced the appointment of Mark Thorsen as general manager of Meadows mall.

Thorsen, 32, will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of the nearly 1 million square foot suburban shopping center with more than 140 stores including anchor tenants Macy’s, Dillard’s, Sears and J.C. Penney Co. Inc.

An employee of GGP since 2003, Thorsen most recently served as general manager of Four Seasons Town Centre, a 1.1 million square foot regional shopping center in Greensboro, N.C.

Thorsen’s tenure with GGP includes various general manager and assistant general manager positions in Salt Lake City, Utah; St. George, Utah; and Bellingham, Wash.

He is an ICSC certified shopping center manager who is licensed in the state of Utah for real estate sales.

A graduate of the University of Utah, Thorsen received a bachelor of science in business finance.
