Gov. Brian Sandoval has announced the appointment of Jan Leggett and the reappointment of Stephen Quinn to the Nevada State Contractors Board through October 2015.
Leggett, manager of Moana Nursery in Reno, is past president of the Northern Nevada Landscape and Irrigation Council and chairman of the Northern Nevada Associated General Contractors government affairs committee. He replaces former board member Nathaniel Hodgson III.
Quinn, president of Precision Construction, was appointed to the board by former Gov. Jim Gibbons in November 2009. He has been a licensed general contractor for 27 years, and is chairman of the Las Vegas Building and Safety Enterprise Fund Advisory Committee.
The Contractors Board is empowered with determining the qualifications of applicants prior to licensing and setting conditions for licenses such as limiting the field and scope of the operations of a licensed contractor, bond requirements and establishing maximum contractual limits. The board is comprised of six licensed contractors and one representative of the public.
