Maverick Aviation Group to expand to Hawaii

Maverick Aviation Group, operators of Maverick Helicopters, Mustang Helicopters and Maverick Airlines, will expand to Hawaii next year.

The Las Vegas-based air tour company plans to launch tours over Maui’s scenic coastline, rain forests, waterfalls and volcanoes beginning in April.

The company, which operates the world’s largest fleet of seven-passenger ECO-Star EC-130 helicopters with 40 in Nevada and Arizona, will open its Maui operation near Kahului Airport with three of the quiet-technology helicopters. The company added a new helicopter this week, will take delivery of six more prior to May and will transition some of its existing fleet to Hawaii.

“We take guests over the Grand Canyon and the famous Las Vegas Strip, two of the U.S.’s most adored vacation spots, so Hawaii is an absolute natural fit for us,” said Greg Rochna, CEO of Maverick Aviation Group.

Maui will become Maverick’s fifth location with operations at McCarran International Airport, Henderson Executive Airport, Grand Canyon West and Tusayan, Ariz., at the south rim of the Grand Canyon.

Maverick also operates Beechcraft 1900D and Cessna Grand Caravan 208 fixed-winged aircraft that provide direct flights to both Grand Canyon South Rim and Grand Canyon West from Henderson Executive Airport.
