National real estate groups honor Las Vegas leaders

Several local real estate brokers recently received notable industry accolades.
Tedd Rosenstein of Nevada Development and Realty Co. received a 2014 National Commercial Award on Nov. 14 at the National Association of Realtors’ annual convention in New Orleans. Rosenstein was Nevada’s lone honoree, and one of about 50 commercial real estate professionals nationwide to win the honor.
The association’s commercial arm also gave Commercial Alliance Las Vegas, the local commercial branch of the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors, its Accredited Commercial Excellence award.
The alliance was honored mostly for its success establishing strategic alliances with other groups as part of its mission to unite, educate shape public policy and inform commercial real estate professionals across Southern Nevada.
Realtor J.C. Melvin of Keller Williams Southwest won the local association’s Realtor of the Year award. Melvin won plaudits for serving as a leader in the real estate profession and in the community.
Janet Carpenter of Signature Real Estate won the group’s Gene Nebeker Memorial Award for professionalism and service to the organization.
Neil Schwartz of Coldwell Banker Premier Realty earned the Ronn Reiss Award for educational excellence and leadership. Rocky Finseth, president and CEO of Carrara Nevada and a longtime association lobbyist, won the Sala/Rubin Award for commitment to grass-roots political action and protecting private property rights.
The inaugural Jack Woodcock Distinguished Service Award went to its namesake, Jack Woodcock of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Nevada.
Finally, the association’s Hall of Fame added Bette Leal of Century 21 Consolidated, David Berg of Elite Realty, and Ronnie Schwartz of Coldwell Banker Premier.
