New ‘What happens here’ commercials will come soon

"What happens here stays here" is about to emerge from a self-imposed exile.

R&R Partners, which handles advertising for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, has released the first two of six new commercials built around the long-running theme. They will be placed on some national TV buys as well as in the key markets of Los Angeles, San Diego, Phoenix, San Francisco, Denver and Dallas. The entire campaign has been budgeted for $10 million to
$15 million.

R&R has not produced any new "What happens here" spots in two years and ran only one that was filmed in 2007. Instead, it adopted other concepts designed to counter the notion that Las Vegas was shriveling up as a result of the recession. With visitor numbers now rebounding, R&R felt it was time to return to what worked in the boomtimes.
