One Nevada Credit Union touts remote-deposit figures

One Nevada Credit Union said Thursday its remote-deposit checking service is now reporting volume equivalent to one of its busiest full-function ATM in Southern Nevada.

The Las Vegas-based credit union launched the service in May. Since then it has processed more than 28,000 checks, totaling $11 million.

"While we knew mobile check deposit was greatly requested by the membership, we had no idea the adoption would be this high this fast," said Brad Beal, president and CEO of One Nevada.

Beal said more than 9,000 members now actively use its mobile banking services. He attributed mobile's rapid growth to customer demands for more convenient banking options.

One Nevada has 17 branches, 60 ATMs, and 75,500 members statewide. The credit union, which posted net income of $1.1 million in the third quarter, is open for membership to all residents of Clark, Washoe and Nye counties.
