Pahrump casino owner faces fine for failing to register bartenders

PAHRUMP — A Pahrump casino owner faces a $5,500 fine for failing to register most of his bartenders with state regulators.

Shawn Paul Holmes of the Stagestop Casino signed an agreement acknowledging the complaint filed against him Monday, and agreeing to the fine.

That settlement still needs to be approved by the Nevada Gaming Commission.

Investigators say they were conducting a compliance check in June when they found seven out of the nine bartenders at the Stagestop weren’t registered, even though they’d worked there for up to 3 ½ years.

Regulators said Holmes told them he hadn’t been tracking employee registrations for several years.
