Smith’s division of Kroger to hire 250 employees in Southern Nevada

NEW YORK — The Smith’s Division of Kroger Co. is looking to hire about 250 people in Southern Nevada.

The 250 positions, which are primarily various clerk positions throughout the store, are part of a nationwide hiring event that will add 14,000 jobs across Kroger’s supermarket chains.

Candidates can apply online at jobs.kroger.com until Saturday, and also show up to a store Saturday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. for an interview.

Many of the openings are for part-time associates who bag groceries, stock shelves or ring up items at the cash register.

The company says the jobs are permanent.

The Kroger Co., based in Cincinnati, has nearly 2,800 stores, including Food 4 Less, Ralph’s, Pay Less and King Scoopers.

The company says it created 9,000 jobs last year and 20,000 jobs in 2014. The 14,000 open jobs that it is looking to fill are a mix of new and old positions.
