Walgreens minipharmacies open at Sunrise, MountainView hospitals
Walgreens on Monday opened minipharmacies at Sunrise and MountainView hospitals, the first in the Las Vegas market.
The chain now has about 300 in-hospital locations in other parts of the country, manager Adam Zold at Sunrise said. Both of the local locations are in places where patients will pass them as they are being discharged.
The hospital stores cover about 1,100 square feet, less then one-tenth the size of a typical free-standing location. Besides the pharmacy counter, they contain a small selection of over-the-counter items.
