Bicyclist injured; police seek driver who left collision scene

Las Vegas police are searching for a driver who struck a bicyclist Wednesday in the west valley and critically injured him.

The incident occurred about 2:45 p.m. near Alta Drive and Rainbow Boulevard.

William Barton, 53, of Las Vegas was injured when he was struck by a gray or silver four-door sedan. The driver of the car did not stop or remain at the scene after clipping Barton on the left side. Barton then fell off his mountain bike.

The driver was traveling east on Alta, and Barton was in a bike lane also headed east on Alta, police said.
