Coroner IDs hiker who fell to death in Red Rock

A hiker who died after he fell at Calico Basin in the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area on Saturday was identified Monday.

Nathan Paul McKinney, 31, of Las Vegas, died from blunt force trauma, according to the Clark County coroner's office.

Las Vegas police Lt. John Liberty said a woman called about 1 p.m. to report McKinney fell an unknown distance. No one witnessed his fall, police said.

Clark County firefighters, the coroner's office and police search and rescue responded.
